Saint Malo
Saint Malo, with its vast beach stretching out like a golden ribbon, its casino and its elaborate villas, is the ideal seaside resort for romantic weekends and family holidays. Stand on the sea wall and marvel at the different shades of colour and contrasts created between the sea and sky, or accept our invitation to admire the spectacular spring tides, which reveal a landscape of small islands and reefs at low tide. Make the most of this opportunity to walk out to the National Fort, designed by the military architect Vauban, and to the Petit-Bé and Grand Bé islands where you may salute the greatest of all romantic authors, Chateaubriand, whose tomb seems to jut out over the ocean.
Departing from Saint-Malo, you can enjoy the British touch just a few cable lengths away on the islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark; take a boat trip along the Rance estuary or around the Bay of Saint Malo; or if you prefer driving, follow the scenic route along the Rance Valley.
