Tourinform, the Hungarian tourist agency, is very helpful and all of their offices have agents that speak English. The main office is at V. Suto u. 2 (317-9800). It is located in the city center, steps from the Deak ter metro station. You can also find the English language newspaper Budapest Week here. They are open Mon-Fri 9am to 7 pm, Sat-Sun 9 am to 4 pm. Other offices are located at VI. Nyugati Railway Station (on blue metro line) and VII Kiraly u. 93.

Ibusz at V. Karloyi Mihaly u. 17 (266-1317) is the national tourist agency, and is the best for booking tours as well as dispensing general information and changing money. 20 locations in Budapest are serving different functions. Usually they close at 5 pm weekdays, English is spoken.

The main Ibusz office (1-318 1120), V Ferenciek tere 10, supplies free travel brochures, and the staff are usually very good about answering general questions. They’re open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Assistance and advice for motorists is available at the Magyar (1-212 2821), II Rómer Flóris utca 4/a off Margit körút near Margaret Bridge. There’s another Magyar Autóklub office opposite the Budapest Operetta Theatre at VI Nagymezo utca 20.
