Hungary (Hungarian Magyarország), is a landlocked republic in Central Europe, bounded on the north by Slovakia, on the northeast by Ukraine, on the east by Romania, on the south by Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia and on the west by Austria. The country's capital and largest city is Budapest.

Hungary has a dry climate, with cold winters and warm summers.

Budapest, is a city in northern Hungary, capital and largest city of the country, located on the Danube River, near the border with Slovakia. The transport system in Budapest is well developed. With tree-lined boulevards and wide squares bordered by modern buildings, Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Built in two parts each either side of the Danube, Buda and Pest are linked by six bridges over the Danube River, including one of Europe's largest suspension bridges.

MOTORWAYS
Motorways roads are in good condition. A vignette is required on the M1 and M3 and they are obtainable at most outlets. The M5 is a toll motorway. The M7 is free. Emergency phones are located every 2km.

Front = Compulsory Rear = Compulsory if fitted Children Under the age of 12 or under 140cm not allowed in front seats Approved child seats compulsory for children smaller than 120cm or younger than 12 years.
DRIVING LICENCE
Driving permit required unless you have the new Photo card licence. Minimum Driving age 18.

PARKING
Vehicles must be parked in the direction of travel. Do not park against the traffic flow. In one-way streets you may park either side unless otherwise directed.
